Make reservations now for Spring 2025 pick-up.  Due to weather conditions we cannot set a firm date for pick-up.  However we like to aim for the second weekend in May.  We will communicate more information as we get closer.
 
Each Nuc will consist of 5 deep frames with an UNMARKED laying queen, 2-3 frames of brood, honey and pollen. (We will not mark your queen.) Choose the best from hundreds available when picking up. Made from Florida wintered Italian bees and split from a healthy 10 frame hive. The bees will come in a temporary cardboard hive and will need to be installed into 10 frame equipment immediately after pickup.  We appreciate the return of the temporary hive box for reuse. 
 
At this time, Hilbert's does not provide other equipment such as hive boxes or supers.
 
Some things to keep in mind when you pick up your bees:
Due to weather & other circumstances beyond our control we reserve the right to change pick up dates & times. 
We will not be doing pick-up in the mornings.  Only 8PM-9PM
Like picking a Christmas tree, you pick your favorite from hundreds to chose from.
We will not mark the queen.  We do not sell packages without a queen.
Bees are fed and inspected before each pickup.
Bring your bee suit or protective wear when picking up if needed.
Sealing, taping, or closing bees in any way are the purchaser's responsibility. We're not responsible for bees that get overheated once they leave our care.
We schedule pick up times at dusk. It's best to pick up bees when the foragers are in the hive.
Any issues or concerns must be brought to our attention within 48 hours of pick up.
All sales are final and nonrefundable.
We do not sell beekeeping supplies.
We do not transfer or handle customer bees.
